O Pai O

Follows the inhabitants in the tenement housing district of Pelourinho, in the heart of Salvador, on the last day of the carnival. Between their lack of money and their desire for having more, they learn to survive by using creativity, irony, sensuality and music.

After a series of critical and commercial successes, Director Jorge Furtado returns to the subject of his short film "Ilha dos Flores," considered the most influential Brazilian short film of all time. This time waste management is the focus of a small community of Italian immigrant descendants in the mountains of Rio Grande do Sul who have gathered together to make a video to try and solve the problems of basic sanitation that plague their village. The comedy brings out Brazil's perrenial best actress winner Fernanda Torres impeccible timing and stars the beautiful Camila Pitanga (Bendito Fruto) and charismatic Paulo Jose, considered one of Brazil's best actors for the past five decades.
